2025 Ambulance Fund Drive

Conemaugh Township Emergency Medical Services (CTEMS) welcomes our friends and neighbors in the communities of northern Somerset County. Since our affiliation with Northern EMS, we have already seen significant improvement in our combined efforts to provide services for all of our covered communities. The combined service area includes Conemaugh Township, Benson Borough, Cairnbrook , Central City Borough, Conemaugh Township, Hooversville Borough, Ogle Township, Paint Borough,Paint Township, Scalp Level Borough, Shade Township, Windber Borough, as well as parts of Jenner Township, Quemahoning Townships and Adams Township.

Working together and sharing the knowledge of all, we continue to focus on providing the best possible services to our members. Standardization of services is a key component as is standardization of equipment. As you can see from the title, this Ambulance Fund Campaign is focused on the most fundamental of our equipment, our ambulances.

Current Ambulances in Service:

CTEMS currently has two (2) 4-wheel drive ambulances, one (1) 2023 all-wheel drive ambulance and two (2) two-wheel drive ambulances covering the entire service area. The combined mileage of all the ambulances is approximately 560,000. Even the 2023 all-wheel drive units  mileage is over 58,000, adding about 43,000 miles in the past year. Our ambulances are on the road much of the time. One of the 4-wheel drive ambulances, a 2008 diesel, is expensive to operate and maintain. It has over 103,00 miles on the odometer.

Our current loan balance totals are $106,ooo.oo. The goal is to replace the 2018 4-wheel drive ambulance with a more efficient 2-wheel drive ambulance to enhance our regular call availability. CTEMS will base a reliable 4-wheel drive ambulance at one location and the all-wheel drive vehicle at the other, this is needed particularly in winter’s snowy months to ensure safe and efficient care to the community.
