Academic Team

Academic Team is High Tech's premier club for anything quiz bowl, Jeopardy, or trivia-related. Whether it is fun facts related to history, literature, science, philosophy, pop culture, geography, or current events, this club has it all. The team competes in quiz bowl and modified Jeopardy tournaments at local, regional, and national levels. Unlike standard trivia contests, quiz bowl tests deep knowledge in specific subjects rather than simple memorization. 

Questions feature a combination of tossups using pyramidal buzzer systems and three-part team bonuses, alongside team-based Jeopardy-style categories. Academic Team is designed for anyone curious about the world who loves learning, studying efficiently, and traveling to compete alongside friends. Members practice once a week, every Thursday during the first half of lunch in room 175!

High Tech Academic Team has built a long history of competitive excellence on both regional and national stages. The club regularly travels across the country to compete in major collegiate and high school host cities, including Chicago, Atlanta, Washington D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, Princeton, and New Haven.
