The recognition officer is responsible for our Member of the Month along with other awards at the end of the year ceremony. They are responsible for communicating with the Key Club officers every month to pick a Member of the Month by the first meeting of the next month. There may be other awards and certificates needed at the End of Year Ceremony.
We strive to do a project of advocacy for an issue in our community to global issues once a month. You are responsible for isolating one issue a month to focus on to report during our first meeting of the month. This will also include a paper activity for people to fill out/color to put on our bulletin board. You should also follow along with the NJ District Key Club, who has a new advocacy focus every two months during the service year. You can find this under advocacy on their website.
The fundraising officers work directly with the treasurer. Your job is to oversee fundraisers for our club along with the volunteers. You will work closely with the treasurer to manage funds from said fundraisers.
As the event coordinator your job is to oversee after school/special events along with volunteers at events. These events include events run by our Key Club. You need to be flexible for this role because events are always changing. It is also important that you are dedicated to Key Club to devote your time to events that you are overseeing.
This job is imperative to our communication to the community. This job is to stay in communication with the Asbury Park Kiwanis. You will be required to update yourself on the meeting minutes of the Asbury Park Kiwanis and to attend some of their meetings. It is going to be your responsibility to update the club on any and all upcoming events of the Asbury Park Kiwanis.
This job is very important for our club at events such as DECON. It is your job to update yourself on NJ District Board meeting minutes. It will also be your job to talk at all general meetings about the happenings of the NJ District Board. It will also be your job to update the club and officers on all events that are run by the NJ District Board. You will also need to be informed on the current Scholarship opportunities for our current juniors and seniors along with contests that are available at DECON. You must also stay informed about ICON.
This position will be utilizing online tools to create PR material to advertise events either for the NJ District Key Club, Kiwanis, or our own Key Club. You are definitely going to need to utilize online resources in this role to be able to make the material, so being a candidate with experience in digital design would be a perfect fit. This role is not going to have set roles or dates that things need to be accomplished, so it is imperative that you are flexible and timely. The only thing that will need to get done with a deadline is the bulletin board.
The most important part of Key Club is the members. Coordinating Projects is a way to keep members involved and get them leadership hours. You will be incharge of a project competition every semester. This is when one student lead project from our Key Club gets chosen for us to run. You also will be in charge of any other projects that people would like to run.
The Period Project main goal is to continue to keep our women’s restroom stocked with Period Products for the school year. You are going to be required to create restock dates and fundraisers for this project. You will need to have bathroom restocks with your committee members to be able to keep this project running smoothly. It is recommended that you make a spreadsheet with sign-ups for the restocks. You will also be required to have inventory of period products that we currently have on backstock. It is also required that you host one fundraiser for the project. The Asbury Park Women’s Club has been more than generous in the past with donations, so reaching out to them is a great start for donations. It is also advised that you run one project for women in the community, like donation period products to a women’s shelter.
