Your capstone project is an opportunity to refine your skills in a way that is likely different from any other class you have taken. For your capstone project you get to choose the topic on which you will focus and the way in which you will approach it. You get to delve deeply into that topic for the whole term. You will practice what you have learned in all your previous courses to complete your project. Here are some of the skills that you have worked on in previous classes that you will continue to refine in capstone:
identify a topic, issue or problem that you want to understand better
use previous research in psychology and related fields to help you understand the topic better
be flexible in your thinking so you can take in new information from a variety of sources
evaluate sources for bias
embrace ambiguity, allowing you to understand that the truth you seek is shaped by context and perspective and there are no easy answers to complex issues
use data as evidence to understand your issue
communicate your findings
