Study Details

·        Seeking individuals with a confirmed hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) diagnosis to complete a survey about their experiences living with HS.

 ·        Participants will provide demographic information, history of HS diagnosis and treatment, quality of life living with HS, and experiences communicating about HS with health care providers and intimate partners.

 ·        Participants can enter in a drawing for one of two $25 Visa gift cards. They can also opt to participate in future interviews about their personal experiences living with HS.

This study has been approved by the CSU East Bay Institutional Review Board.

Requirements

·        Participants must be 18 years of age

·        Able to communicate in English

·        Have an HS diagnosis from a health care provider.

Goals for this Study

·        Understand the complex experiences of people living with HS.

·        Inform health care and social science approaches to understanding the unique needs of people who live with HS.

About HS

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a debilitating, chronic skin disease that causes inflammation of the hair follicles, characterized by painful deep-seated nodules or abscesses mainly located in the groin and armpits.
