Primary Investigators

Dr. Ingraham and Dr. Hann both have experience living with and learning about HS.

Natalie Ingraham 

Natalie Ingraham, PhD, MPH, is an assistant professor of sociology at Farmingdale State College (SUNY) in Farmingdale, NY. She is interested in the intersections of body size, gender, sexuality, and health, and has previously published on the intersections of LGBTQI+ health and reproductive health.

Lena R. Hann

Lena R. Hann, PhD, MPH is an assistant professor of public health at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. She has experience working and researching in the sexual and reproductive health fields, including in the areas of sexual health education, abortion care, and stigma in health.

Past Research Assistants (2021-2022)

Caleb Drew is a senior at Augustana College from Sterling, IL majoring in public health and biology with a pre-physician focus. He hopes to specialize in family medicine as a PA. 

Abraham Jalala is an undeclared second year attending California State University, East Bay. As someone who has HS, he wants to participate in research that furthers the understanding of this disease.

Amanda Langdon  is a Undergrad Sociology major at Cal State East Bay in Hayward, California.

Kody Walker is a junior at Augustana College from Elgin, IL majoring in public health with a pre-physician assistant focus. He hopes to specialize in dermatology as a PA. 

Christina Bailen  is a fourth year Health Sciences major with a concentration in Public Health at Cal State East Bay in Hayward, California. 

Denise Tapia Juarez  is an Undergrad Health Sciences major at Cal State East Bay in Hayward, California.
