Ethical Use of the Recorded Chants 

The Ibanag Canto is a sacred oral tradition and a living prayer of the Itawit and Ibanag people of Penablanca, Cagayan. Every recording carry with it the voice of faith, heritage, and identity. Because of its cultural and spiritual significance, the use of these chants must be guided by respect, sensitivity, and responsibility. 

• The Ibanag Canto is a sacred oral tradition. Recordings must be used with reverence, never for commercial exploitation or entertainment detached from its spiritual meaning. 

• Chants should be shared in educational, cultural, or religious settings that honor their purpose as prayer and heritage. 

• Always credit the Kantorit or Minakkantorit, the community of Peñablanca, and the institutions supporting preservation. 

• Avoid altering, remixing, or presenting the chants in ways that distort their meaning or ritual context. 

• Usage of recordings should contribute to cultural preservation, education, and the empowerment of the Ibanag and Itawit communities.
