Special Crime Investigation involves examining unique cases that often necessitate specialized training to grasp their broad implications.
The aim of crime scene investigation is to determine the events that took place (crime scene reconstruction) and identify the perpetrator. This involves meticulously documenting the scene's conditions and identifying all pertinent physical evidence. The skill to detect and correctly gather physical evidence is crucial for both solving and prosecuting violent crimes.
It’s not an overstatement to assert that in many cases, the law enforcement officer who safeguards and examines a crime scene plays a pivotal role in whether physical evidence is utilized in solving or prosecuting violent crimes. Crime Scene Investigation is among the most crucial phases of any criminal inquiry. The initial actions undertaken at the crime scene by First Responders, Investigators, and SOCO team members at the beginning of the investigation are so essential that their actions often decide the investigation’s outcome.a
