The Charleston Elves are honored and excited to fulfill a cancer patient's dream of attending the Masters at Augusta National. The Elves hope walking the hallowed grounds of Augusta National re-energizes a cancer patients battle with cancer and provides the strength needed to continue their fight.
The Charleston Elves' mission is making sure children with cancer and their families have a wonderful holiday season. Fulfilling a cancer patient's dream of going to the Masters is a little outside of our normal mission. This opportunity presented itself when a long time supporter of the Elves, Brian McIvor, called and said, "I have two extra tickets to the Master's practice round on Monday. Let's find something cool to do with the tickets to help a cancer patient." Instantly, we thought let's send someone fighting cancer to the Masters and raise money to pay travel expenses for the trip. How cool would that be? Done!
Below are three links that give more information about this mission and how you can get involved. The first link takes you to David and Irene Hinchley's story of fighting cancer and their love for golf. The Hinchley's are the recipients of the two Master's practice round tickets. The second link is to a donation page. Here you can make a financial donation to cover expenses for the trip. All financial contributions goes to cover expenses for the trip. Any money left over will go to next year's Charleston Elves gift drive to provide presents to families with a child fighting cancer. The third link is to information about Charleston Elves.
The Elves are excited to fulfill David and Irene Hinchley's dream of going to the Masters! We hope you will join the Elves in making this dream come true. After the Masters, we will provide pictures and a summary of the Hinchley's day at Augusta National.
