The Card Sort strategy gives students the opportunity to work with vocabulary, terms, or concepts. Students sort cards into categories which helps them analyze similarities and differences between concepts. This gives students a structure to talk meaningfully with one another about content and helps teachers check for understanding and plan for future instruction.

This session will focus on teaching and explaining what accommodations and modifications are, and how as teachers, we can implement them to assist students. Once the attendees understand what accommodations and modifications are, I will go over sample accommodations and modifications. Together we will make a list of accommodations, and I will make sure to share handouts with information regarding accommodations/modifications. Also, I will discuss how to modify the curriculum and give pointers on what that may look like.
