Poetry Books - Mahoney

8th grade students learned about design elements as they created a book of poems from English class. Each student was responsible for choosing one of their poems written earlier in the month, picking elements that they thought would translate well into visuals, and using images, unique text formatting, visual hierarchy, and fonts to highlight these elements. Part of this project also explored the benefits and setbacks of using different file type such as JPEG, PNG, and PDF. Once everyone submitted their designs, all poems in the grade were printed out and each student bound a book to take home.
