LSW Licensed School Social Worker
PreK-12
Hello!
My name is Tommy Khang and I am the Social Worker at Community School of Excellence, supporting prek-12. I have been with CSE since January of 2023.
I was born and raised in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. After high school, I moved to Saint Cloud, MN and attended Saint Cloud State University. I graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Social Work and am currently a licensed social worker (LSW).
When I am not at CSE, I enjoy cooking/baking, creating art, board games, watching TV and spending time with family and friends. It is my goal to help nurture and support our students to become the best they can be and to achieve the goals they choose.
If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out.

Hello!
My name is Moua Vang. This is my first year at Community School of Excellence. I am the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support coach for The Elementary school. I've been working with student behaviors in education for 10 years. My hope is to teach and prepare today's students to become tomorrow's leaders. I firmly believe that positive reinforcement is the driving force behind all student successes. I believe in celebrating all successes big or small. With positive reinforcement we can shape these scholars to become confident, responsible, and compassionate leaders who knows how love themselves and others.
Outside of school, I enjoy being in the outdoors. Some of my favorite things to do are hiking, camping, fishing and watching the sunset. I love spending family time with my nieces and nephews and my 3 dogs. I currently live in Minneapolis, MN with my family.
Nyob zoo! Hello! This is my second year as the Elementary School Counselor at CSE. I am excited to work with our young scholars to ensure they have the best educational experience. This will be achieved by having individual and small group counseling sessions, classroom lessons and daily positive interactions.
I received my Bachelors in Human Resources from Metropolitan State University and my Masters in School Counseling from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. In my free time, I like to go RV camping and traveling the world with my partner and "little" family.
Hello,
My first experience with school was being homeschooled by my Mom, K-12. My first experience with more traditional schooling was in college at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks where I earned my associates degree. After that I took a break, and eventually earned my Bachelor’s degree, and after another break, my Masters in School Counseling from Capella University. That is when I became licensed by the state of Minnesota as a K-12 School Counselor.
I chose to get a degree in School Counseling because I wanted to work in mental health, I love working with kids, and I am able to be on the same schedule as my own children. I live with my two children (11 and 13), three cats, a corn snake, and an axolotl.
This is my fourth year at CSE and I am excited to work with students to help them achieve their goals in an encouraging and safe space.

Licensed School Counselor
Helloooo! My name is Ms. Kanong! This is my second year at CSE. Prior to CSE, I was a school counselor at an international school in South Korea. The reason why I decided to be a school counselor is because I love working with students, especially when it comes to helping them plan out their future. As the high school counselor, I primarily work with students on graduation requirements, scheduling, and social/emotional support. My hope is that when students graduate from CSE, they feel prepared and ready for life after high school.
Here are a few things about me: I was born and raised in St. Paul, MN. My favorite food is pho. I love the color orange. I love to travel, watch Chinese dramas, and sleep. I am also a big fan of Sailor Moon and BTS!!
