Our school cares about giving our students the best learning experience we can here at St. Peter Martyr. If you're curious as to what we do to fulfill our goals, here's a little peek inside our learning space!
Our kindergarten class is taught by Ms. Alexis. Our kindergarten classroom is very colorful and cheerful! The typical kindergarten classroom is not quiet or calm, but it should have a sense of organization. Favorable layouts include a learning center with designated areas for activities such as math and reading.
The library is at the back of the cafeteria to the right of the tables. The library at SPM is available to all classes on their particular day. In the library, students are provided a vast amount of book choices to read and take AR quizzes from.
The STEM Lab is at the front of the school to the left of our office. This lab is available to all of our classes to use, its primary use being our art and science classes! In here we conduct our science experiments and art projects, often with the help of our kind volunteers.
Here are a few other very important elements for our education!
Our classrooms are where our students learn and succeed in. Our 6th-8th homerooms switch off. 6th grade is social studies, 7th grade is science and 8th grade is math! Every classroom has the same general format, kindergarten being an exception. Whiteboards are in the front and on the right wall next to our door, there's storage in the back, windows on the left wall, and an abundance of desks throughout the rest of the room.
Our desks are triangular shaped with a small inside cubby. On the top of our desks we have room at the front of the triangle to place any materials we aren't using at the moment, such as our laptops, books, and stationary supplies. This leaves us room to continue dutifully working on our assignments on the base of the triangle without having to worry about not having enough room. Facing us on the inside is our storage cubby where students can store other materials.
