As we near the end of the school year, we still have a lot to do. In Religion we are learning about the 10 Commandments, as well as building our knowledge of Catholic virtues. Students are in the planning stages of our Mother’s Day Tea Party, and we are finishing up our Math books with Measurement and Data, followed by 2-D shapes. In a few weeks we will start our final class novel, Charlotte’s Web. This is a great tool to close out the school year. Each week students are polishing their skills in both grammar and reading with our reading centers. In Social Studies students will continue to read and explore government, citizenship, and the Constitution. In Science students are finishing up weather conditions and for the remainder of the year projects will center around engineering and design (STEAM projects).
Our Hornet of the Month for the month of April was Crystal Rea. Crystal is enthusiastic about learning. She is extremely motivated and always puts her best effort into her assignments. She also shows respect for her peers and teachers.
Keoni de Lara was recognized for being an active learner. Keoni enjoys learning new things and has a genuine curiosity for the world around him. This month he took it upon himself to research all of the US presidents and report back to the class his findings after we read about Thomas Jefferson.
Please RSVP for our upcoming Mother’s Day Tea Party (5/10/24 @ 1:30pm).
Also, we have 30 school days left. Please try to schedule doctor appointments and vacations outside of school hours. Much of our class work must be done in class.
Practice! Practice! Practice! Those math facts. Each student’s goal is to pass all four operations in Xtra Math and pass our timed tests for multiplication.
If your student does not have homework they can sign in to Clever and sharpen their skills using Espark, Typing 101, Xtra Math, Boddle, or 99 Math
