Regular Program
Once we get to DC you will be in groups and hotel rooms with students from across the country.
You will learn about and debate current events
You will tour the city and learn about all kinds of monuments, history etc.
You will visit cultural and global centers like art museums and embassies
You will talk to your representatives and senators
You will participate in a mock congress as representatives, or lobbyists.
To close the trip, Close UP hosts a celebratory dance for the students and their friends.

Decatur ALWAYS does extra to make the most of our experience.
You will tour the African American History museum.
You can visit Howard University for a college tour
You may visit the zoo, the hip hop museum, eat at Ben's Chilli bowl and/or any special events that happen to be in DC at the time.
You might get to listen in on Senate Committee hearings, visit the Library of Congress or tour the Supreme Court.
You will take a trip to the National Mall to celebrate our nation's cultural heritage.
