Course Description: In 5th grade band, students expand their musical skills. Students also have the opportunity to switch to a larger or more challenging instrument like the trombone, euphonium, or alto saxophone. With these instruments, 5th grade students can build the fundamentals of woodwind and brass technique. Students can rent an instrument from the school for a $15.00 annual fee.
Performance Calendar: The 5th Grade Band will be performing in two major concerts each year. The winter concert is in December and the spring concert is in May. These concerts will be graded and are required for students in concert band. For information on these major concerts, please refer to the annual performance calendar. Please let Mrs. Belletti know as soon as possible if your child will not be able to attend. In addition to our spring concert, the 5th Grade Band will be participating in various school and community events. These events give our students valuable "stage time" and the ability to make a difference in the Green Valley community. Information on these concert events will be posted on the performance calendar and distributed via parent letter, email, facebook, and remind.com. Check these sources often to keep up to date.
