This year-long, college preparatory course is designed to build on the skills students have learned throughout high school. Students who take this course will have:
An opportunity to increase their awareness of historical cultures; sharpen their critical reading, thinking, and writing skills; and deepen their cultural sensitivity.
Students will read short stories, essays, travelogues, biographies, and memoirs from contemporary and historical international authors to round out the reading experience.
Students will make connections to their own lives as they demonstrate understanding through reading response journals, class discussions, and various multimedia presentations.
