Cru in Slovakia

Cru is a global missionary movement. Upstate Cru partners with Cru's Slovak ministry. In these partnerships, Upstate students, faculty, and staff commit to praying, giving, and going. We do this so that a self-sustaining ministry might be built in Slovakia. As we send students and staff, our priorities are to love God and the team that you go with, launch new ministries, and to learn a new culture.

Every summer, we send a team of American staff and students to host week-long English camps with Slovak staff and students. At these "SpeakOut" English camps, the gospel message is presented clearly, repeatedly, and in the context of a fun, safe, loving Christian community to Slovak high school students who don't yet know Christ.

SpeakOut English Camps are one of the most strategic components of our long-term vision to turn lost Slovak students into lifelong, Christ-centered, multiplying disciples. Many of the students who trust Christ at SpeakOut become leaders in their local ministries, and come back to volunteer at SpeakOut. SpeakOut English Camps are a greenhouse for spiritual growth, no matter where someone might be along their spiritual journey.
