Fastbreak is digital this year, but that doesn’t mean you have to experience it alone! Here are some ideas for how you can gather safely with others. As you have experienced, things develop daily with COVID-19. Make plans for how to gather, but be prepared to adjust your plans. Remember to practice social distancing, mask wearing, and handwashing. If you are meeting as a larger group, take time to consider how to direct people as they arrive, break for meals, or engage socially together in order to follow safety guidelines. If you need additional help, please email cru-nyc@cru.org.
IDEAS FOR GATHERING
Invite your church to host the watch party
For the seminar times, consider having smaller rooms available nearby, or encourage people to bring headphones and watch those portions on their laptops
Have a specific point person to walk your group through whatever you plan to do in the scheduled breaks, meal times and free time
Connect your laptop to a larger TV so you can all watch together
Plan a late night or breakfast hangout around the sessions for your groups
Have a drawing from the people that come to your watch party for fun door prize
Plan your group outreach in advance. If you have questions you can see the outreach page or contact us at cru-nyc@cru.org
SAMPLE HOST SCHEDULE
If you are hosting a group, whether virtually or in person, here’s a suggested schedule for you to build off of. Adjust it to what makes sense for you!
The italicized sections are times when you will have an opportunity to plan activities for the group you are hosting.
PLEASE REMEMBER
As you host your event, follow state, local, and university guidelines when they are more conservative than guidelines set by Cru. Never exceed local (government) or Cru guidelines.
