9th Grade
Kennedy Singers, Kennedy Chorale, Protege
10th-12th Grade
All choirs!
Kennedy Singers, Kennedy Chorale, and Concert Choir meet during the school day, plus three evenings and one Saturday a year for concerts/competitions. (Evening concerts are a required part of the course grade.)
Our show choirs meet during the school day and also have one weekly rehearsal in the evening from the start of school through early March.
You only need one block in your schedule to do both a core choir and a show choir!
If you are interested in Chamber Choir or a jazz choir, that will require an additional block in your schedule.
You may be wondering if you can participate in choir/show choir and other activities at the same time. The answer is YES! Coaches, teachers, and directors work together to minimize and deal with conflicts that arise. We even help you deal with the conflict! On your audition form, you will be able to indicate which activities you want to participate in and tell us which ones take priority for you. If we have a concern about a conflict, we will talk with you about it before you are cast in the group. If you list a conflict and we don't talk to you about it...that means it really isn't a problem! (We've been doing this a long time and know about how many activities schedules work already.)
Choir lists for the 25-26 school year will be posted online on May 24th at 7:00pm at the audition page linked at the top of this page.
There are no costs associated with participating in our core ensembles.
Show choir shows require a great deal of time, talent, and treasure to produce. Costumes, buses, musical arrangements, choreography, and staffing require a lot of financial resources. We ask families to indicate what level of contribution they can contribute towards the costs. We also offer several fundraising opportunities for our students. The most important thing to know is:
No student will ever be denied participation in our program for financial reasons!
We have the resources to help any student who wants to participate. Whether it be financial, transportation, or other needs, Kennedy Choral League, our parent support group, is there to help! Please do not make the decision not to try out because of money!
