Kids doing school from home

May 14th, 2021. In Alberta, all kids across the province have been sent to online learning due to Covid. The start of online learning happened on May 7th, 2021, and will hopefully be back in person on the 25th. There are several ways teachers are doing their online teaching. Although there are three main ways teachers are doing it. Some teachers are doing 2 one hour meetings one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Then posting all the work for the day for kids to do on their own. And will also do meets where every student gets one 30 min session every week. Other teachers have their meets from when they would start in person until noon and do all of the work with their class altogether. Then after lunch at 1:00 to 1:30 until the end of the day. The third way I have seen teachers do online is the kids do half the work on a meet and the rest on their own.
In School learning resumes as kids start to go back to school
By Frank Kik
Thursday, May 20, 2021. This week the province of Alberta has confirmed that students from kindergarten to grade 12 will be going back to in-person learning on Tuesday next week with the exception of Fort McMurray with Case numbers that still remain strong and high.
When this announcement was made, doctor Deena Hinshaw, Alberta's chief medical officer said that it was safe to go back to school, Hinshaw also said that covid-19 cases at schools weren't a significant driver of community outbreaks and it should be safe to go back. Even though the lead doctor said it was safe, a lot of people have conflicting emotions and are a bit shaky and anxious to go back to school. So I guess we have to just wait and see what happens next, it's impossible to know.
