Bienvenue!

This site is a work in progress.

Please check back for updates!

Weekly Update March 18th-22nd

This week are Parent-Teacher Interviews and most of you have booked your dates and times booked. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your child’s progress and goals as we continue our school year together.

Reminders:

1.Students are reminded to bring their Badminton Racquets to school for PE! They should have one from last year, but if they need to buy a racquet, the school is selling them for 35$, or they can try Switching Gear for second hand options.

2. This year, the school will not be hosting a Scholastic Festival du livre, book sales were very low (most of our money came from posters and pencil/eraser/bookmark sales). Our librarian will be hosting an online book sale through Scholastic Club de lecture. Filling all the volunteering needs is also becoming increasingly difficult. Students were given the booklets last week for choosing books. Please go to scholastic.ca/canadaclubs Find our school and choose Librarian McLeod, Alanna as the teacher's name. This will ensure that the profits from this sale go to purchase french books for our library.

6D this week...

In English Language Arts, we are working on reading comprehension, reading strategies and reviewing parts of story (Literature Circles - social topics picture books)

In Social Studies students will continue to present their vocabulary posters as the chapter 4 unit progresses. We will continue to learn about the Iroquois Confederacy, particularly how decisions were made.

In Math, we are working on dividing decimal numbers. Problems of the week are on a variety of mixed problems. Students are reminded problems of the week are due EVERY Monday.

In Science, we are exploring the forces of flight and understanding the role of air and aerodynamics in flight. We will be working on parachutes.

In PE we will be playing Badminton tournaments. Don’t forget a racquet!

In Art, posters for health literature circles.

In Health, students will attend the health fair by grade 8s on Monday

In French, Please view Mme DeSautel’s 'plan de travail’
