Weekly Update June 24th-28th

The last week of school is upon us!

We will do some intense in-class review on Monday morning for Social Studies and students will be swimming for their final session at Elevation Place Monday afternoon. Students will have music as planned the remainder of the week.

Tuesday, June 25th is the last PAT - Social Studies. Students have been given a review booklet but I noticed (MANY) left it behind at school. I really suggest they study as it is a tough exam. The booklet is on my website under Études Sociales. If students want to `study` for PATs another great place for them to do this is on the Alberta Exam Bank where they can do questions from past PATs Here is the link, username and password. On Tuesday afternoon, weather permitting, we will be headed to the park across the river for a large grade 6 class game of Capture the Flag to burn off some PAT steam.

On Wednesday morning we will be doing full desk and locker clean out. Please send an extra bag with your child to take home their school supplies, binders, gym strip, etc.

On Wednesday afternoon, June 26th, all grade 6 students will be going swimming at Elevation Place - it will not be a lesson, just fun free swim time as a grade.

Thursday at lunch is the End of Year BBQ.

We will have our class goodbye party Thursday afternoon. If your child would like to bring in snacks or drinks to share, they are welcome to. We have 26 students and several nut allergies, so no nuts of any kind. We also have one gluten free, so please just let us know ingredients if not marked.

Friday morning at 9 is the awards ceremony.

6D this week...

In English Language Arts and Art - YEARBOOK - Students are making their own yearbook pages using Canva an online poster program and the photos I have taken over the course of the school year. They are writing captions, favourite moments, etc.

In Social Studies PAT Prep on Monday as well as the PAT on Tuesday morning.

In Science, Evidence and Investigation Crime Scene to finish off the year.

In PE we will be playing soccer or baseball… outside (good runners for both inside and out are required!)

In Health, we are continuing Sexual Health - Blood Borne Diseases
