Day 1 July 21
Hi all,
First day went well and uneventful. Our connection was a little tight since we were held in Omaha for thunderstorms in Chicago. Flight to Shanghai was long, but food was good and had 50 or so movies an TV shows to choose from. Landed at 2:00 PM. Shanghai time. Got bags and traveled about an hour by bus to the school. We had some young adorable students, about 8-10 years old, give a tour of campus, then we ate dinner. The meal was a little different, not sure exactly what we ate, but there was plenty of rice.Dorm rooms are typical with six bunks and a couple desks. Each room has it's own bathroom with a shower and is equipped with A/C, thank goodness. It's extremely humid. The climate reminds me of Florida. There is a small shop on campus with snacks and drinks to buy. We all stopped in and tried a few things, then headed to bed early. Everyone should sleep well tonight.
