General Music

General Music

Students who are not enrolled in Band or Chorus are placed in General Music. Students in General Music meet daily during two quarters of the school year. Typically, this is Quarter 1 and Quarter 3. During General Music classes, students will learn how to read music in treble and bass clef, music theory, about music in countries around the world, a variety of genres, and how to play a variety of instruments. 

Sixth grade explores bucket drums and ukulele; seventh grade learns more in-depth ukulele skills and explores piano; and eighth grade learns more in-depth piano skills.
