Concert Band
Students in Concert Band meet weekly as an ensemble as well as lesson groups to enhance skill sets in performance, composition, response and connection to music. Students participate in school, district and state wide events. Past performances include: Winter concerts, Cromwell Pep Band events, Jazz/Select Choir concerts, Northern Region Music Festival, CMEA annual conference, Jazz Girls Day, Band Pajama Night, Town wide Jazz Festival, Spring concert & Lake Compounce adjudicated festival.
Additionally, Band and Jazz Band students are encouraged to audition for the Northern Region Music Festival. Auditions are in November each year. Please find details here: NRMS Dates & Locations Audition Materials

Jazz Band
This extracurricular ensemble meets Tuesday's afterschool from 2:45- 3:45. Students may sign up for the late bus if transportation is needed. Musicians will learn exciting new genres including Jazz, Funk, Latin & Rock! Please see Ms. Sayles for the audition music.

BAND ALBUM PROJECT 2025 Students collaborated to create their very own musical album. The roles students took on included: Artistic designer, Composer, Recording Engineer, Booking Agent & Music Publicist. Through research, peer feedback, revision, evaluation & presentation, students improved their musical literacy skills. Overall, students utilized competencies found in multiple content areas and deepened their understanding of music as it relates to art, culture, engineering, mathematics, S.E.L., language arts & performance.
