Excellent teacher leaders are first excellent teachers. Teacher leaders are those who are respected by their peers, are continuous learners, and support the growth of their peers through distributed leadership.
Through the PEER network, designated teacher leaders will receive training, coaching, and job-embedded support through personalized performance management by a PEER Coach.
PEER 2.0 Teachers of the Month are identified for their demonstrated leadership across the PEER Network.
September: Lauren Parish, Lonoke Middle School
October: Randa Edwards, Cedar Ridge High School
November: Danielle Bradley, Leadership Magnet School

Both experienced and less experienced teachers who have participated in mentoring develop confidence, gain leadership and communication skills, become empathetic, feel valued, and have the ability to function independently as classroom teachers. 1
Excellent teacher leaders are first excellent teachers; excellent teachers are first excellent learners. PEER 2.0 Teacher Leader Mentors engage in deep, collaborative learning experiences, demonstrate high levels of growth, and support colleagues in developing the knowledge and skills needed to increase effective teaching practices. Teacher leadership and mentorship have many attributes, and the relationships between these characteristics are not always linear.
