This a project that our Board of Trustees hopes to fund annually to help meet the needs of the youth on our land grant by providing school supplies and/or hygiene products to the schools within our traditional boundaries. Our traditional boundaries contain four schools that serve children from K-8: Taos Middle Shoool, Ranchos Elementary School, Taos International School, and Vista Grande High School.
********NOW RECRUITING*******
This is a forest thinning project where we are looking for lineros from the community to thin out 1 acre parcels of forest. We are looking for at least 30 people to sign up for this project. Lineros that participate will be able to keep the wood they cut and will be reimbursed for fuel and use of their equipment once their obligation to the project has been met. Most wood cut will be green.

Illegal dumping is a problem on the land grant not only because it is a dirty sight to see, but is also polluting our groundwater. It also contributes to increased fire danger close to our homes in Llano Quemado and Ranchos. This is an effort to work with property owners to clean-up the illegal dumpsite on Miranda Canyon Road.
For more information please check back for the special meeting announcement or email landgrant@cristobaldelaserna.org. You may also reach out to any member of the Board.

**********************COMPLETE June 6, 2023***********************
Our land grant will be teaming up with the East Rio Arriba Soil and Water Conservation District to bring youth onto the land grant to take GPS points and inventory resources within the land grant for illegal dumpsites, historical sites, boundaries, acequias, erosion, encroachment, places of concern, etc. At the end of the project these GPS points will be used by the youth to create maps that can be used by the land grant to apply for funding to fix or clean up issues.
