Meet

Mr. Van Horn

Mr. Van Horn has taught elementary physical education since 1988 and has been with Crete Public Schools since 1999. He started his teaching career working for Houston Independent School District in Houston, Texas before teaching at Crete. A native of Waverly, Nebraska, Van Horn earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received his Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane University. Van Horn also has coached football at Crete High School from 1999-2018.

Mr. Van Horn's hobbies include tending to his vegetable garden, camping and hiking, watching college football and super hero's movies, and of course spending time with his wife Jerri, and their six children -- Ross, Leo, Clayton, Claire, Ruby and Lyle.
