Copy & transfer your files

If you want to preserve your school emails or Google Drive items.

Transfer your Google Drive and Gmail data

*If needed, create a personal GMail (destination) account prior to starting this process.

1. Sign into your school account and open GMail

2. Select your account in the upper right hand corner

3. Go to “Manage your Google account”

4. Under “Transfer your Content” select “Start Transfer”

5. Enter your destination email account information.

6. Select “Send Code” and retrieve code within 24 hours from your

7. destination account.

8. Verify your destination account

9. Select the content you want to transfer (Drive, GMail).

*Google Drive storage is limited to 15GB on personal accounts.

Details about the copy process

• The copy process usually happens within a few hours, but it can take up to a week.

• Copied files might appear in batches on your Google Account during the copy process.

When your files are finished copying, you'll get an email at your Gmail address.
