Good morning, school leaders, teachers, and friends! I am Gregor from Class 2A, and I would like to share my recent experience attending the health fair with my family.
Over the weekend, my family and I decided to attend the health fair because one of my cousins recommended it to us, thinking we would be interested. The main reason we did not decline is because there was a free health screening! Why would I refuse free healthcare?
When we stepped into the health fair, a bustling crowd greeted us, and the atmosphere was lively. The first thing we did was head to the free health screening. Fortunately, all of us received a clean bill of health. We then moved on to the challenges, where there were multiple physical activities. My parents participated in some challenges while I joined the relay races and tug-of-war. I even managed to make a few friends around my age!
What I enjoyed most were the free healthy snacks and refreshments! I could savour a variety of fresh fruits, smooth and velvety smoothies, and more. The snacks were so scrumptious that I even asked the staff where they bought them and for recipes for the homemade refreshments. This segment is perfect for foodies and anyone who loves a healthy diet like me!
Overall, you should definitely attend this health fair, as there are numerous activities to choose from. If you are an indoor type of person, I recommend the health workshops. They teach you how to improve blood flow and circulation with simple yoga exercises you can do at home. You had better hurry and attend, as the health fair ends on the 30th of September, 2024.
Thank you for listening to my speech!

Good morning, teachers and friends. My name is Allegra, and today I am going to share my experience at the health fair!
Over the weekend, my family and I decided it would be a good idea to attend the health fair. I read about it on social media and became interested, so I told my family, and we thought it would be a great way to bond after a busy week of school and work. We also found it convenient because the health fair was held at the Jurong East Community Hub, which is close to our home in Jurong East!
I saw many activities at the health fair, including a free health screening, interactive health workshops, and many fun challenges. I attended the interactive health workshop, which caught my eye as I was curious about how to maintain my health and body weight. I had a nice conversation with a fitness expert who recommended useful exercises like Pilates, which she found effective for her own body. I really appreciated her advice, and she even encouraged me not to give up!
My favourite part of the health fair was the fun challenges. I enjoyed participating with my family, especially in the relay race where we won first place! My dad and I always jog together, so it was a great chance to take part in the relay race. We even won smartwatches! Can you believe it?
I suggest all of you attend this health fair. It was such an eye-opening experience, as we learned how important it is to take care of our health and bodies. Not only that, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to bond with family and friends. The fair will be held until the 30th of September, so do not miss it!
Thank you for your kind attention!

Mohamed Raiyan Aiman Bin Mohamed Fazly (3-7) 2024
Dear fellow schoolmates,
My name is Raiyan, and today I will be telling you about my experience at a health fair my family and I attended over the weekend. I will be sharing more about it and explaining why I recommend this fair to you.
The reason we attended this health fair is that recently, I have been staying at home often and have not been exercising at all. When my parents saw an advertisement for the fair on social media, they encouraged me to join them to increase my physical activity. Since I had nothing planned for the weekend, I decided to go with them to the health fair.
At the fair, I saw many things, like games and even a mascot appearance, but I focused on a few activities. One of the highlights was the Interactive Health Workshops. I learned useful exercises like yoga and strength training and discovered effective ways to stay active through engaging sessions led by professionals. I enjoyed learning these exercises and how to do them properly. Another favorite activity was the Fun Challenges. My family and I participated in games like tug-of-war and frisbee. My dad won the frisbee game and even received a smartwatch as a prize. We had a great time and hope to participate again.
One thing I especially liked about the fair was the Fun Challenges. As I mentioned, my family and I had a lot of fun and bonded over the activities. This experience also motivated me to start exercising on my own, and I have recently begun playing sports with my friends.
I think you should attend this fair for two reasons. First, many of you are on your phones a lot and may not enjoy exercising, so this fair could help you develop a healthier lifestyle. Second, the fair offers a chance to bond with family and friends through teamwork activities.
That is all I have to say about the fair. I hope you will attend and keep yourselves healthy and fit. Thank you!
Describe your favourite travel destination.
You should include details of where it is and why you enjoy going there.
The breeze of wind and warmth will brush against your shoulder when you step foot into the airport in Osaka, Japan, which is my favorite overseas travel destination.
Upon leaving the airport, you will find yourself surrounded by towering, erect buildings and skyscrapers. Around you, you will see plenty of relaxed and mindful people strolling through the city of Osaka, whether shopping, dining, or simply taking a walk! As you walk through crowds of people chatting and whatnot, you will feel a strange sensation of both warm and cool winds touching you. This makes it very comfortable to explore without sweating.
Now, moving on to the delicacies! The irresistible and constant aroma of mouth-watering food will echo around you whenever you walk past, whether it is a restaurant or even a street vendor! Japan's most popular delicacy, seafood, is often eaten raw. For foreigners, it might seem unusual at first, but do not worry, it is perfectly safe to eat! The sashimi (raw seafood) is thoroughly cleaned and free of bacterial contaminants. To eat it, most Japanese dip it into the commonly used condiment known as wasabi. Wasabi is made from grinding a certain type of plant into a mushy paste before being transported. Its taste? Well... I can only say that it is strange. It has a cooling, spicy flavor that burns the inside of your nose when you eat it. Personally, I am not a fan.
The shopping districts of Osaka are huge! Upon entering a shopping mall, you will see loads of retail items displayed on shelves that are almost perpendicular to each other! Each column and aisle on every floor has different kinds of goods, ranging from shiny fabric clothes and sparkling bags to handmade figurines, meticulously prepared snacks, and thirst-quenching drinks. Speaking from experience, because the malls are so big, you are bound to get lost at least once or twice while exploring.
That is why Japan, Osaka, is my favorite travel destination.

Have you ever had a weekend activity that you absolutely love? For me, it is reading! I am such a bookworm, and I would love to tell you why reading is my favourite weekend activity.
I am more of an introverted person, so I enjoy spending time alone. And what better place to read alone than my room? Every Saturday afternoon, I set up my little reading sanctuary. I place my favourite lavender-scented candle on my bedside table, turn off the lights, and settle into bed. The calming smell of lavender fills the room as I dive into my book. I put on my headphones and play gentle, calming jazz to enhance the experience. Something as simple as this makes me feel completely at peace. The warm glow from the candle lights up the pages, adding a relaxing vibe to my cosy space.
When I read, I can feel the hardcover and the smooth, firm pages as I flip to the next chapter. It almost feels like I am transported to the world in the book instead of just sitting in my room. I love snuggling into my warm, fuzzy blanket, which makes reading even more enjoyable. The slight bounce of my bed adds to the comfort, and I can hear the springs adjusting around me, making me feel like I am lying in a field of flowers. I close my eyes and imagine a bright sky and birds chirping in the trees. This ritual helps me calm down and relax after a stressful week.
Nothing quite compares to this experience. Who knows, maybe you can give it a try! You might just enjoy it as much as I do.

I have many favourite weekend activities, but there is one that truly keeps me going in life: reading books.
Books offer a wide range of genres, like horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and rom-com, that always keep you engaged and excited about what each chapter holds. Books are like a never-ending plot twist that stretches your imagination and makes you question more, expanding your knowledge and creative thinking.
I love reading over the weekends because it is one of the best ways for me to relax my mind and body after a long, exhausting week at school or when I am feeling low. Books have greatly helped me improve my English skills, like vocabulary and grammar, which has led me to excel in exams.
Whenever I pick up a book, I feel calm and a rush of excitement. Reading helps me escape reality and lets me visualise every interesting part of the story as if I am the main character. This allows me to understand more about the storyline and the characters.
Overall, reading is my favourite weekend activity because it helps me manage my overthinking, brings me happiness, and allows me to gain knowledge and understanding.

There are numerous activities people do on the weekend: drawing, playing sports, and hanging out with friends. For me, it is online games. I enjoy playing online games on the weekends because I can take my time without worrying, and it is my favourite pastime.
There are a variety of genres of games to choose from, such as First Person Shooter (FPS), Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA), and more. However, what I enjoy most are strategy games, as they exercise my brain and cognitive functions. I enjoy planning, thinking ahead, and testing my mental abilities. For example, in a game of chess, you must consider where to place each piece strategically.
A recent game I picked up, called Lobotomy Corporation, is a strategic management game. In this game, you are tasked with managing employees and conducting research on creatures called abnormalities. I enjoy it because, whenever I research new abnormalities, I can feel the tension rising inside me! The game itself takes a long time to complete and has a lot of lore behind it, so I prefer to play it on the weekends when I have more time.
Whether I feel mentally drained from exercising my brain, stressed when I am losing a competitive game, or exhausted from intense concentration, I enjoy it all because it helps me understand more about different feelings and emotions. This is why online gaming is my favourite weekend activity.

My favourite weekend activity is playing basketball. Basketball is a sport that requires six players on each team competing against each other. The goal is to shoot the basketball into the opponent's net and score points to win. I usually play basketball at the court near my house and practice shooting on my own.
The reason I enjoy playing basketball on the weekends is because I was inspired by the basketball player LeBron James. He holds the all-time record for the most wins in the NBA, and I see him as a legend because of that. I have learned his tactics and methods for playing the sport so I can apply them when I play basketball on the weekends.
Playing basketball on the weekends helps me feel calm, as school has been rough for me and I have been struggling with my subjects recently. Whenever I play, it gives me a sense of relaxation, and the stress from school starts to fade away. It also makes me feel happy when I play with my friends and family because I can teach them how to score points and have fun together.
Overall, playing this sport makes me realise I have an activity I am good at and can continue improving as time passes.

Today is my first day as an intern at a shop. I was excited, as this was my first day experiencing work life. As I walked into the shop, there was only me and another girl who had a poker face, was tall, and had her hand filled with tattoos; she gave me a judgmental look. I was confused and had a million thoughts in my head, wondering why she gave me that look. I looked her up and down, judging her by every inch, and decided to avoid her at all costs for the day, thinking she would cause me big trouble.
As the shop gets busier, I feel overwhelmed by the crowd I have to deal with. I turned left and right, wanting to ask for some assistance, but she was nowhere to be found! I was doomed and fuming at the same time, thinking, "How could she leave an intern alone at a busy shop? I bet she is in the storeroom, resting and using her phone." I had had enough and wanted to confront her when my break started.
“Hey! Do you mind explaining why you were not helping me out at the shop? Just because you look intimidating does not mean you can push all the work to me and treat me like this!” I said in an angry tone. “What are you talking about? I was helping out with packing the delivery orders at the packing station, and I also helped by doing some restocking as the inventory was running low,” she said calmly, looking down with a teary eye.
As I heard her explain the situation, I realized I was wrong for judging her by her looks and not by what was inside. I felt so guilty for scolding her for no reason that my face turned fuming red, and I quickly bowed down and apologized to her. She accepted my apology, and we became good friends from then on. I learned that I should not judge a book by its cover.

That day, I was busy studying for my end-of-year examination. I was determined to pass everything once I completed my exams. But things took a drastic turn when my phone rang loudly with an unknown number. I picked up the call, assuming it was yet another scam call, but it was not. My mother was also trying to get a hold of me. My eyes filled with tears as I received news from the hospital about my grandmother. She wanted to say her final words and goodbyes face-to-face.
I dropped everything and prepared to leave the house, hoping to see my grandmother one last time before she passed. But it was too late. My mother told me the words I never wanted to hear. Words of grief and horror filled my ears as I dropped my phone and began to cry uncontrollably. I had never cried so much in my life. I did not get to say goodbye or even see her. I felt my heart shattering into a million pieces as I fell into a state of deep sadness.
To make matters worse, I had an exam to take, and the whole experience affected my mood terribly. I could not focus on my studies. My hands trembled, my eyes were bloodshot and puffy from crying, and tears continued to fall onto my paper as I struggled to take in this painful news.
I needed help and quickly. I could not bear the pain any longer, so I reached for my phone and texted the first person I could think of. My friend replied almost immediately, and I explained everything in detail, hoping for some comfort, all while sobbing alone in my room. My friend was patient, offering comforting words and advising me to stay strong.
As I read through her messages, one in particular touched me deeply, almost bringing me to tears again: "Even though your grandmother might not be with you physically, she is still supporting you, just not in person. She would be proud of you, and you are strong for going through with the exam after everything that has happened." I paused to take it all in, and my lips slowly curled into a small smile as I replied with a heartfelt thanks.
Though I was still grieving, I began to heal through this painful time. All I know is that I am still being watched over from above, and my grandmother will always be proud of me.

I woke up to the bright fluorescent light hitting my eyes as I stirred. It had been a day since I admitted myself to this mental hospital to get my panic attacks and depression in check. I rubbed my eyes, which slowly adjusted to the light, and got out of my room to start exploring the place.
“Hey you!” A voice called out to me. I turned around to see a petite girl who looked to be around my age.
“Name’s Julianna, are you new here?” Her voice was dripping with honey, and her demeanor was very casual and nonchalant. I simply nodded and reached a hand out for her to shake. She shook my hand, her grip firm and tight.
“My name is Sayaka, nice to meet you, Julianna…” I replied in my monotonous, indifferent, low-pitched voice. Julianna simply smiled and pulled me towards a couch filled with stuffed animals, then gently pushed me onto it.
“I have a feeling we’re gonna be great friends, Sayaka,” Julianna said in a somewhat ominous tone, her voice still as innocent as could be, as she gave me a big hug and buried her face in my shoulder.
For the next few days, as I remained stuck in the facility with Julianna clinging onto me at every chance, I initially found it cute, but it quickly became annoying and a hassle. It was like taking care of a child; if I made an attempt to leave, she would threaten to cut herself, so I was always forced to stay. I talked to the staff of the mental hospital, and they recommended that I stay away from her as much as possible. Julianna had severe bipolar disorder, and the staff were trying to isolate her since it was the best option they had.
At first, I thought Julianna was somewhat cute with her youthful appearance and childlike behavior, until I found out she was thirty. She was acting that way so newcomers would feel safe and eventually fall into her trap. She would always threaten suicide or self-harm if the person she got attached to even thought of escaping from her grasp.
The next day, I checked myself out of the mental health hospital, returned home, and flung myself on my soft, comfy bed. Surely that was the end of it, right? My phone notifications started blowing up with messages from a burner account that somehow found my Instagram account. From the nature of the messages, I could deduce that this was obviously Julianna. At this point, it was not surprising to see these messages from her; I simply reported the account and made my account private.
I threw my phone to the side and let out a heavy sigh. I was mentally drained from dealing with her and just wanted to move on. What seemed to be an innocent girl with a very clingy and needy personality ended up being an adult woman who was so mentally unstable that she had to be isolated to protect herself and others from her extreme mood swings and delusional behavior. I guess it's good not to judge a book by its cover.

It was a long day. I finally got off work and was on my way home. I was exhausted. I was on the bus sitting in my seat. It was quiet and peaceful, which was perfect, but as soon as the children outside stepped on the bus, it became noisy.
The children kept shouting and shouting at each other on the bus. My eyebrows furrowed, I became even more annoyed.
"Kids these days," I mumbled and rolled my eyes.
A few minutes later, an old lady who looked like she was in her 60s, wearing a white blouse and using a cane, tried to find a seat but most of them were already taken. The old lady was standing right in front of the children too. It just shows how disrespectful children are these days. When I was about to give up my seat, the children stood up from their seat and kindly gave their seat to the old lady with the cane. They carefully held the lady's arm gently to guide her to their seat and stood up on the bus for the rest of the time. Before they were going to get off the bus, they thanked the bus driver.
I was surprised. They all looked very impolite and I thought they would not give up their seats or say thank you. It was very surprising for me to find out that they did give up their seats to an old lady. I learned not to judge a book by its cover; despite their appearance and how loud they can be, they can be polite and kind.

I was lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, absolutely drained from school. My phone was buzzing next to me. I reached out, grabbed it, and scrolled down to look through my notifications. It appeared that my friend, Uriel, had just posted a new video on TikTok.
I opened the comment section to type something encouraging but, before I could type anything, my eyelids began to droop slowly. I yawned softly, threw my phone onto the ground, and took a nap. The next day at school, I felt a gloomy presence from Uriel. It felt like she was staring at me the whole time in class. When recess came, as I stepped out of the classroom, Uriel stopped me. She was glaring at me. I was confused and nervous.
"Why did you comment that?" she asked angrily.
"Comment what?" I replied, tilting my head.
She pulled out her phone and showed me the video she had posted yesterday. When I looked in the comments, I saw my account had left a comment with a vomiting emoji. I was shocked. My eyes widened in disbelief, as if a sudden jolt of electricity had coursed through my veins, leaving me momentarily stunned. I shook my head and hands.
"I didn't type that!" I exclaimed in panic.
Uriel rolled her eyes, seemingly unconvinced. I raised the inner parts of my eyebrows, begging her to believe me, explaining that I had thrown my phone onto the ground and maybe that had caused the comment. I was truly devastated; I didn't want her to dislike me.
Uriel, still skeptical, studied my expression for a moment. Seeing the genuine confusion and concern in my eyes, she sighed and softened her glare.
Uriel doubted my innocence regarding the mistaken comment. After showing sincerity through positive actions, we became friends again. The incident turned into a funny memory, strengthening our friendship.

I remember a time when social media led to a misunderstanding with my friend that nearly destroyed the strong friendship we had for years. It was months ago when my friends suggested I open an Instagram account so we could connect and post about our lives. I did not hesitate and quickly created an account.
Days later, I started to post more to keep my account active. But every time I uploaded a post, there would be this one person who always commented early and posted mean comments about me.
"How strange? I wonder who this person is? It must be one of my friends, right? Because I remember only they have my account!" I mumbled under my breath.
I decided to investigate myself, and hours later, I realized it was my good friend, Jess! Now I could connect the dots! She was jealous of me and wanted me to create an account so she could troll me there without saying it to my face! I was overwhelmed with many emotions, including anger and sadness. I decided to confront her about the problem tomorrow.
"Hey! How was your day? I have something to tell you!" Jess said with a bubbly voice. How could she still be happy when she writes mean comments about me? I had had enough of her acting skills. I did not let her finish her sentence and said, “If you are jealous of me, just say so to my face. But must you take the harder way and write mean comments about me through Instagram? I always feel that there are many knives stabbing me because of it," bawling my eyes out as I said it to her.
As soon as she heard it, she was stunned. “I was about to tell you that my account got hacked! I would never say those mean things to you. Remember, I am your best friend?" Jess told me in a soft tone while comforting me.
It took me a while to realize how I had misunderstood the whole situation and just assumed it was all her doing. This incident almost made my friendship crumble like a sandcastle. I learned my lesson and will always remember it by heart.
