My favourite hobby is online gaming. On the online platform, you can experience different kinds of things with just a click of a button. Gaming is one of them. Through video games, you can create and strengthen bonds with strangers as the community of gaming is filled with many different people. 

Video gaming can even increase your depth of knowledge in a subject matter. For example, if you meet someone who is fluent in a certain language that you like to pick up, you can strike a conversation with him in that language to communicate with.

Do you know that gaming is a very popular hobby to relieve stress for students from studying?  The vast amount of entertaining content created by different people through the metaverse is astonishingly huge. With applications ranging from a multi-player platform such as Roblox to individual games such as OMORI, any desired type of gaming content to meet the individual needs can all be found on the online platform.

If you are in the mood of frights and spooks, all you have to do is just search for the said tag and you will find many applications to head to. The same principle applies for player versus player tags and other kinds of video games.

Online gaming is entertaining yet easily addictive. For if you get too hooked on a certain game, it will affect you both physically and mentally. You will soon start to neglect what is important and your brain will only focus on one thing and that is gaming. Getting addicted to video games will affect your schedules and daily routine. It will also drain your knowledge as you no longer focus on your studies.

If you want to learn more and try video games out, I will not stop you but you should also need my warnings and try not get too addicted to it!

‘Chirp Chirp’. I was strolling around the park in the morning as the sound of the bird came to my ear. While I was testing on the beach. I heard a soft crying. I quickly ran towards the noise and saw a child. He looked traumatised and frightened. I asked the boy, ‘What happened?’ He said he was lost and could not find his mother. He told me his name was Lucas.

We searched high and low for the mother but could not find her. I was worried as I could not find the boy's mother. Suddenly a thought flashed into my mind. I quickly rushed the boy to the police station.

A woman was anxiously asking the policemen where her boy was. The policemen asked what was his name. ‘Lucas’,  said the woman. I then shouted, ‘Is your lost child here?’ The woman was filled with joy as the child was crying. She showered me with praises. I was just happy that they were reunited and I had done a good deed.

Ever since I was young, my favourite hobby was basketball. Even until now, I still love basketball as my favourite sport. I love basketball because I know that I can learn a thing or two when I play basketball. Sure, it was tough to learn. But if I do not face any challenges, there is no way that I will be able to achieve anything good in basketball.

I was 10 years old when I started playing basketball. It was tough. But slowly I started to improve a lot. I am still facing challenges today but I will not be discouraged. I always play basketball with my brother at the basketball court near my house. My brother is good at basketball and I want to be like him or Stephen Curry. Stephen Curry is known to be a powerful basketball player of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is also very famous all over the world. And if I ever become a good player like him, I will not care about the fame. I will care about my skills as they are more important than anything else. But if I ever become a professional basketball player, I know I will face a lot of difficulties as it is not easy.

The NBA is where basketball players challenge other teams. It is what I like to call, a place where you learn, as you will make mistakes here and there, and you learn from your mistakes. Learning from your mistakes will take some time, as there are no shortcuts to success. You have to do things the right way. And by that, you will definitely achieve our dreams one day. 

My favourite hobby is art and finding the words that best describe it is no easy challenge.

But I would say that art is exquisitely interesting. From a simple line to an object we see in our daily lives or a purposely made messy and extravagant piece of work. It is also bizarre as almost anything can be art. Even Math could be art, such as strapping a banana to a wall with duct tape and making a dot. But art is art. It is up to our imagination to craft it into shape.

The only simple answer as to why I like art is that I simply do it for fun or to kill time. Classic and dimensional models are my specialty. Art is really a hobby I do enjoy the most. 

A year ago, I woke up, brushed my teeth, ate breakfast and got ready for school. When I arrived, I greeted my teacher and friends, and sat down for lessons. After school, my friend, Caleb and I went to McDonald’s for a quick bite. It was a seemingly uneventful school day. After our meal, we went to a 7-Eleven outlet. My friend had promised his sister to buy her favourite snacks while I wanted to buy a 30-dollar Roblox gift card. Caleb wondered if I had enough money to buy it. I told him that I was confident as I had been saving up over the last few days.

However, at the counter, I realised that I was short of a dollar. I turned to Caleb for help, but he was nowhere to be found. In my state of panic, I had forgotten that he had gone out to make a phone call. I frantically re-looked inside my wallet, but, alas, I was all out of coins as well.

I was about to ask the store clerk to cancel the purchase when a kind old man gave me a two-dollar note. He had been watching me. He asked if it was enough to cover the cost. I was delighted and squealed, “yes!”

Fortunately, I live nearby, so I quickly rushed home to get a two-dollar note from my mother and ran out again. Initially, I was determined to find the man but an hour-long search made me nearly give up. I finally saw him sitting by a hidden corner of a nearby void deck. I returned the money and thanked him.

After this experience, I learnt to check things more carefully and I am also ready to extend a hand to those in need, just like the old man had done for me.
