Purpose
To provide a detailed process and guidelines for packing all CRED orders & dispatching them to ensure no damages happen during transit to customer.
Responsibility
Partner should ensure all the below mentioned guidelines and processes are followed while packaging all CRED orders.
Guidelines
Corrugated box - cardboard thickness
Always use good quality corrugated boxes to ensure there is no product damages during transit. Our recommendation for box thickness is described below:
Bubble wrap - 50 microns
Ensure to bubble wrap all products where there is a possibility of damage during in transit. Our recommendation is to use a bubble wrap that is atleast 50 microns.
Placing the product in the box
Ensure that while packing the product is placed in the center with additional cushioning (protection) on all 6 sides - bottom, 4 sides and top.
Invoice insertion
Ensure to insert a printed invoice copy inside the box before sealing it. This is a mandatory document required for both the customer and to adhere with Indian laws for transiting the package.
Void filling
All empty spaces inside the box should be filled with proper packaging fillers like -corrugated paper, buble wraps or plastic air pillows.
Taping
Use a brown tape or transparent tape that is atleast 2 inches wide for sealing all the opens of the corrugated box.
If incase the box is heavy, ensure you put additional taping on the bottom side as well
Shipping label
Ensure the below mentioned rules are being followed for shipping label:
barcode on the label should be clearly visible
label should not be pasted on the edges of the box/flyer
label should not have any ink fades / smudges / creases
label size should not be smaller than 3 x 5 inches (recommended size is 4 x 6 inches).
here should always be only one shipping label struck on the box
Flyers usage (poly bag)
Ensure when using flyers the ends are properly sealed and are not left open. The volumetric weight will be higher if you don’t tape the ends and lead to higher logistics char
Packages will not accepted and picked up under below conditions
Damaged or torn
Not sealed properly
Crushed
Liquid leakings
Additional packaging guidelines for Liquid items
All liquids/semi liquids should be packed in Boxes.
Liquids upto 3 ltrs to be packed in 3Ply Box and Liquids more than 3ltrs to 5ltrs to be packed in 5ltr box. If the Liquids product or put together weight is more than 5 ltrs/ Kg it has to be packed in 7ply Box.
Insert all liquid pouches, cans, bottles, containers from 200ml to 5ltrs inside a plastic cover. Secure the product properly so that it does not get leaked.
Taping the bottle caps
Ensure that you seal the bottle cap properly to avoid any spillages during transit.
Additional plastic wrapper
Put the product inside the plastic cover so that if incase the product does get leaked, the contents will not spill outside and damage the entire box.
Additional packaging guidelines for Fragile items
A few items that are generally considered as fragile
Glassware (such as vases, bowls, and stemware)
Ceramics (such as plates, mugs, and figurines)
Delicate fabrics (such as lace and silk)
Artwork (such as paintings and sculptures)
Electronics (such as smartphones, laptops, and tablets)

Packaging Instructions
All Fragile products to be packed in 3 ply or 5 ply Box based on weight. If shipment weight is more than 3 kgs, it has to be packed in 5 ply box.
Bubble wrap the product 3-4 times and use transparent tape on top of it to avoid any slip
or breakage.
