SVOS Mission and Vision statements

Mission: The mission of the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society is to serve our members and support the highest quality of eye care for our local community. We do this by providing innovative continuing education, advocating for the highest standards of vision care, empowering our doctors with the latest advancements in the field, fostering a collaborative network and being a trusted resource. We are dedicated to eye care excellence, enhancing knowledge and fostering a community that champions exceptional patient care.


Vision: The vision of  the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society is to be a dynamic community where every optometrist is empowered with knowledge, resources and meaningful connections; be the driving force for advocacy and advancement of eye care for all Californians; and make a lasting impact which enriches the lives of all our members and patients.

SVOS Board 

SVOS is the local affiliate of the California Optometric Association, one of twenty-five such societies in the state.

SVOS is one of the largest and most influential, boasting over 200 member doctors.  Our footprint stretches from Fairfield to Lake Tahoe, with Sacramento right in the center.  

The SVOS Board of Directors is composed of a panel of volunteer doctors who willingly donate their time and energy for the betterment of their society, their community, and organized optometry as a whole.

Paymaun Asnaashari, OD, FAAO


Immediate Past President

Dr. Paymaun is the owner of Arden Park Optometry in Sacramento, California. He is a Sacramento native who is passionate about making a sincere desire to help people see to their fullest potential. Since graduating from the School of Optometry at UC Berkeley in 2018, he has developed an focus in areas of myopia management and specialty custom contact lenses. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and a board member for the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society.

Jenny Truong, OD

Secretary

Dr. Jenny Truong graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She went on to complete her residency in Primary Care & Hospital Based Optometry at the Veteran Affairs Hospital in San Diego, California. For the first few years of her career, she split her time between private practice and an assisted nursing facility in the Bay Area. She has since relocated to Sacramento and now practices at an academic health center. Her current position has afforded her the opportunity to provide comprehensive and urgent eyecare exams to patients of all ages. She addresses general visual needs with glasses and contact lenses and collaborates with other health care professionals to diagnose and treat various eye diseases, and to screen for potential ocular manifestations from systemic disease and their associated medications.

In her free time, she enjoys attending Zumba classes and spending time with friends and family in the great outdoors.

Linda Rappa, OD


Treasurer

Dr. Rappa completed her Bachelor of Science in 2000 from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY and her Doctorate of Optometry in 2004 from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She is certified to treat glaucoma and in January 2012 received a medical optometry certification from the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry.

Dr. Rappa grew up outside of Buffalo, NY but has called California home since 2006. She currently practices at a private practice in Rocklin, Stanford Ranch Optometry. She has almost 20 years of experience in full scope optometry but is passionate about medical optometry. She is currently a director on the Board and has previously served as Tahoe chair, secretary and president of the SVOS. She received the Sacramento Valley Optometric Society’s outstanding service award in 2008 and the California Optometric Society’s Young Optometrist of the Year award in 2010.

Outside of optometry, Dr. Rappa is an active Board member of a non-profit organization, Sacramento Feed from the Heart and a member of the Polish American Club of Sacramento.

She enjoys hiking, camping and traveling with her two dogs and rooting on her hometown team of the Buffalo Bills.

Board members

Nichole Moos, OD

Dr. Moos is the owner of Capitol Optometry. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry and completed her Bachelor of Science in health science at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Dr. Moos has been passionate about eyes since she was 17, and her fire and love for the optometric profession continue to grow.

Dr. Moos is certified in treating and managing glaucoma and ocular disease. She is also passionate about treating and managing dry eye disease, because she experiences the struggles of dry eye disease. Dr. Moos enjoys treating patients of all ages, from infants to seniors.

Dr. Moos is an active leader in the optometric community serving as Past-President on the SVOS board and working as a VSP Ambassador.

In her free time, Dr. Moos likes to hike, cook, travel, and spend quality time with her husband, Alex, and her 2 boys, Ben and Eli. She is an avid sports fan, so feel free to talk to her about your favorite team.

Kristyna Lensky Sipes, OD

Dr Kristyna Lensky Sipes graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 2006.  She completed her undergraduate work at the University of California, Davis. Upon graduating from optometry school, she worked in private practice in the Bay Area for several years before moving to Roseville in 2011.  After relocating to the greater Sacramento area, Dr Lensky Sipes practiced in a large MD/OD clinic before purchasing Stanford Ranch Optometry in 2013.  Dr Lensky Sipes is the sole owner and clinical director of Stanford Ranch Optometry. Her practice has since grown and currently has 3 associate optometrists.  Stanford Ranch Optometry is a high volume primary care, contact lenses and specialty lens clinic.  The practice serves a large population of ocular disease patients and has a fast growing dry eye clinic.  Recently, she purchased a commercial space and is planning on relocating her practice in the fall.  She has written several articles for Modern Optometry and has a passion for the treatment and management of ocular surface disease and loves using OptiLight to treat her patients.  Dr Lensky Sipes is a member the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association along with several professional organizations and currently sits on the board of Sacramento Valley Optometric Society.  She loves to travel and has two daughters.

Steven Hoffman, OD
