STEP 1: WELCOME TO TINKERTIME

For this Tinkertime you will have access to many different materials to build with. The room will be divided into different stations. At each station you will be able to build whatever you want out of whatever materials you see before you. You may not combine materials from different stations. Your facilitator will tell you when it is okay to change stations, or if you are able to move between stations whenever you want. 

Materials at the Different Stations Include:

• Brain Flakes (see the video below for ideas about how to use them)

• Straws & Straw Connectors

• IO Blocks

• K'nex

• Tinker Toys 

There are also Jenga Blocks, which can be an alternate activity if you need it.

Please work respectfully and responsibly with others at your station. What does that look like?

• • • Share materials, 

    • keep noise down....classes around you might be working!

    • be kind to each other and work cooperatively, 

    • keep your working space neat,

    • when directed, clean up your area and look for others to help clean up their area too,

    • pack supplies back neatly in the bin, because another class will be trying these activities.

STEP 3:  Time to Explore!  

Be sure to leave time at the end of exploration to do a great job cleaning up, and to draw us a diagram of what you did today.  If you have time between stations, check out the cool videos at the bottom of the page.  Ready to Explore?!?!?!

STEP 4:  Cleanup

Please help each other to pack the cart back up so that it looks just like when we started!  Here is a cleanup countdown video for you!  

STEP 5:  Draw us a picture

Draw us a picture of what you created today...label your drawing and include a caption to describe what it is.
