About Us

At Cranberry, VEX is still a relatively new program. Nonetheless, our teams have performed exceptionally well over the past six years. During these years we've had eighteen teams qualify for Worlds; of which last year's senior team had qualified four years in a row. Last year, we had one elementary team, three middle school teams, and one high school team attend VEX's international competition in Dallas, Texas. 

This year we have twenty-six teams in grades 6-11. Of those; thirteen teams competed locally, and earned invites to the Western, Pa State Championships. While there, eleven of those teams earned awards and four qualified to compete at the 2023/2024 VEX World Championship. These teams have poured hundreds of hours of work into their robots during endless nights designing and building their robots, programming them, maintaining an engineering notebook, and practicing their driver skills. If we didn't kick them out, they would never let us (the coaches) go home. 

Our goal at Cranberry is to continue educating and inspiring the youth of Venango County and all of Western Pennsylvania to pursue interests and careers in the STEAM fields through robotics. Each year; between classes and our afterschool club, we have over 100 students in our two robotics programs, BEST Robotics and VEX Robotics, and we hope to only grow that number in years to come.
