Hi! Ciao! Hola! Allo! Salamat!
I am Linda Tanini and I teach Biology and AP Biology at Chelmsford High School in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA. Chelmsford is about 35 miles northwest of Boston, MA and about 15 miles south of New Hampshire.
I am the child of immigrants from Florence, Italy. My parents came to the US about 50 years ago to join my aunt who married an American Soldier that was stationed in Italy during World War II. I still have a connection to my family in Italy and speak Italian fluently. This connection is one of the reasons that I am interested in learning to make my curriculum more global. In addition, many of my friends work for global companies. I think it is important to prepare students with a global perspective to prepare them for the competitive economy that they are about to embark on.
I was fortunate to be selected as a Fellow in the Teachers for Global Classroom program in 2017. I have been working hard to help pivot my classroom to have a more global perspective through the work that I have done for through the program. This website is a culmination of the work that I have done and a way to help other teachers learn how to pivot their classroom for a global view.
Fun little bit of more about me. I like to read, cook, drink coffee and take pictures in my free time. In fact, all the pictures on this webpage are my own. Please enjoy!
