Fourth Grade is an exciting time! We start combining all of the skills we have built throughout our early years to be able to sing in multiple parts, play xylophones, drums and even recorders! Our district provides a recorder for each of our musicians. When Grant students finish fifth grade, they keep their recorder.
Fifth grade students have the opportunity to audition for the district wide Honors Choir! During music class, we create the Winter All School sing along from the bottom up. The students begin with a book and write an original song to teach the school and as their creativity takes off we add more singing, playing and dancing. We continue to play the classroom instruments and add in the ukuleles. While there is a bit more focus on performing, approach it gently. All students will sing at the Fifth Grade Fine Arts Extravaganza for the district and then we will wrap up the year with singing at the fifth grade graduation.
Grant School will shine today!
Grant School will shine!
We are the Generals,
marching through time!
Grant students are the best,
from East to West.
Our school is great.
We are first rate . . .
Best in the state!
Our fifth graders lead the School Song for every assembly. They can each play the instrumental parts independently as they work on building ENSEMBLE.
