An apprenticeship is a program that trains a worker to become skilled in a particular trade. Apprenticeships combine hands-on work with classroom learning to train the apprentice. Apprenticeships are considered full-time employment. As the apprentice is learning, they are also applying the lessons through working.
There are 6 basic steps you must complete to get into the apprenticeship program.
Attend an Informational Session: Informational Sessions are held monthly from September through January. Wages, school hours, school location, dues, benefits, types of work performed, and costs to the apprentice will be discussed, and any questions will be answered. NOTE: Please review the calendar or the upcoming events list for Informational Session dates. Informational Session dates will be posted at the end of August 2016.
Please complete the required documents to apply. This checklist is handed out at the end of the Informational Session.
Once your checklist is completed, you may call the JATC office to make an appointment to complete an application.
