The following tools may be helpful when working with students. Feel free to take a look! Let us know if you need any help or have other great resources to share!

Individual Tools & Ideas:

  • Google Keep -- Create and share checklists or To-Do lists with students. Check out Cameron's video for more ideas!

  • Google Calendar -- create deadlines for assignments

  • Google Forms -- Use Google forms for progress monitoring. Share forms with students regularly to access feedback. (Example of survey and then form created with A LOT of data.)

  • Accessibility & readability in Databases & Online Encyclopedias

  • Online Stopwatch -- Set a looping alarm to help students refocus

  • Emoji Prompts -- 😃 🤷🏽‍♂️ 🐿 What would your story be? This site is a random emoji generator that could support story telling/writing and connect what kids love -- emojis.

  • Screencastify -- Free screen recorder extension for Chrome. Capture, edit and share screencasts.


Google Accessibility Tools - This is a great article and collection of tools/tips on embedded accessibility features in Google tools.

Google Extensions:

  • AdBlock Plus -- Adblock Plus is an easy-to-use ad blocker that blocks video and social media advertising.

  • EquatIO -- create mathematical equations, formulas and more on their computer or Chromebook.

  • Tab Scissors -- This extension splits a window into two at the selected tab.

  • Tab Glue -- This extension glues windows together. This simple organization tool puts all of your Chrome tabs together into one window with a single click.

Reward Ideas:

  • Scratch -- free programming language and online community where you can create your own interactive stories, games, and animations.

  • TypingClub -- Learn typing online using TypingClub's free typing courses. It includes 650 typing games, typing tests and videos.
