• Requirement: Students must complete at least 40 hours of community service by Monday October 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM.

• Definition: Service is any voluntary activity for which no monetary or academic credit has been given, received, or exchanged, and which directly benefits the community. Students gain no personal benefit apart from the satisfaction of helping others (NHS Chapter Bylaws).

• Note: Internships, jobs, work experiences, or volunteer work done during school hours for credit do not count as community service.

All community service hours must be submitted by your supervisor through THIS FORM.

• Leadership must be clearly demonstrated in your Membership Packet and continue after induction.

• Student leaders take responsibility for shaping their academic community while fostering personal growth and development.

Include specific examples and evidence of leadership in your packet.

• Character reflects the essence of who we are.

➡️ How to demonstrate character:
Character is evaluated through the materials uploaded in your packet, as well as:

• Dean of Student verification

• Faculty Input 

• Personal essay by the candidate (needs to address both character AND leadership)
