CP/HN WWII Scrapbook Research (Kabongo and Simmons 2018)

Overarching Question: Why do these stories about WWII matter?

Step 1: Locate Secondary Sources

Remember: All websites MUST pass the CRAP Test

Recommended Databases

From home, you will need a password to access the databases.

Step 3: Locate Primary Sources and Artifacts

From home, you will need a password to access the databases.

Step 4: Cite Primary Sources and Artifacts in NoodleTools

  • In NoodleTools select "Create New Citation"
  • Select "Website" or "Database" (depending on where you found the primary source)
  • Select the type of primary source that you are citing (i.e. "Interview") and provide as much information as you can about the image
  • Copy the citation and paste it into the "Source" box in a note card on your NOTES Google Doc
  • Take Notes! Don't forget to create an In-Text Citation for the source and paste it at the end of the "Direct Quote" and "Paraphrase" boxes!

Step 5: Preparing Your Scrapbook and Annotated Bibliography

In-Text Citation (where each piece of borrowed information is used on a scrapbook page)

"The purpose of an MLA in-text citation, sometimes called a parenthetical reference, is to help readers easily find the sources in the Works Cited page that correspond to your referenced passage" ("MLA").
