Info Sheet: Classroom Email Summaries for Guardians

Please note: If you scholar does not click on the blue "Turn In" button that Ms. Connolly talks about in the video above, the summary will show that assignments are missing. However, the teacher is able to view the file and give credit for the work whether or not the scholar clicked on "Turn In."

In addition, scholars are able to click on "Turn In" even if they haven't completed any part of an assignment which will make the summary show that an assignment is turned in, even when it is actually incomplete.

Therefore, Aspen is the best place to see which work your scholar has completed and which work is missing because that is where teachers enter in that information.

In other words, Classroom is where you can see the content of assignments and have scholars show you what they have accomplished on Docs, Slides, and other types of files. Aspen is where you see if they have received credit for an assignment.

In the meantime, scholars can get into the habit of clicking on "Turn In" when finished completing an assignment to make the "View Your Work" section of "Classwork" and the guardian summaries more accurate for everyone!
