Our school follows the Cambridge Public Schools AI Guidance when using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in teaching and learning. AI is used with intention, to support instruction while keeping students’ learning, privacy, and safety at the center.
This means:
AI should support learning, but must never replace student thinking or "productive struggle" (working through challenges to build understanding). Students are still expected to complete their own work.
AI-powered tools are already at use in some learning platforms (such as iReady for personalized math and literacy support). Teachers may also use AI tools like Gemini, MagicSchool, or SchoolAI for planning or instructional support.
Student data privacy is always protected. Approved AI tools follow district privacy agreements-- they are not permitted to use student information or student/staff interactions to train their AI models.
