Incoming 7th Grade DANCE Auditions:

Schedule & Location

• Location: WY Dance Studio – Arts Building – Room 184

• 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Incoming 7th Grade Auditions

• 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Guys & Dolls Dance Company Callbacks

Audition Information (Incoming 7th Graders)

• Preparation: You do not need to prepare a solo for this audition.

• What to Expect: We will begin with a ballet barre, move across the floor, and end with a modern and/or jazz combination (depending on the remaining time).

• Note: If you are new to any of these techniques, please do not worry! Just do your best and try your hardest to pick up the movement.

Callback Requirements (Guys & Dolls Dance Company)

Dancers attending the callbacks from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM should prepare the following:

• Solo: Please choreograph a short, 1-minute solo in the dance style of your choice. This is your opportunity to showcase your individual artistry and strengths.

• Interview: We will be conducting a brief interview with each dancer to get to know you a little better.

Dress Requirements (All Dancers)

• Dancewear: Leotard, convertible tights, ballet shoes, and jazz shoes.

• Alternative: If you do not own traditional dance attire, please wear fitted exercise clothing or fitted shorts with a fitted t-shirt.

• Strictly Prohibited: No baggy clothing and no jewelry.

• Hair: Must be pulled completely back and off of your face.
