Incoming Freshmen

WHAT IS FRESHMAN ORIENTATION?

Freshman orientation is your kick-off to high school! We begin with a high-energy opening assembly - be ready to move and have fun. Next, you'll break out into a smaller group with your "Crew" and your upperclassmen mentors, or "Link Leaders." Together, you'll participate in some really fun activities to get to know your crew and learn all about Von Steuben before going on a campus tour and having lunch together. Lunch is free for students and is provided by Link Crew. 

WHO GOES TO FRESHMAN ORIENTATION?

ALL incoming students in ALL of Von Steuben High School's programs . This is a student-only event (sorry, parents!). There will be an informational parent meeting at 8 AM that parents can attend if they would like to attend. 

WHO ELSE WILL I MEET AT FRESHMAN ORIENTATION?

You'll meet some really amazing upperclassmen who have volunteered to be your mentors throughout your entire first year! 

WHEN IS FRESHMAN ORIENTATION?

Friday, August 16th, 2024 from 8 AM - 12:00 PM. 

WHERE IS FRESHMAN ORIENTATION?

Orientation will take place at Von Steuben High school, 5039 N Kimball ave. 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO FRESHMAN ORIENTATION?

Nothing! We recommend that you dress comfortably, as we will be moving around. 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER FRESHMAN ORIENTATION?

Before Freshman Orientation is Freshman Registration, you must complete all of your forms ahead of time. At registration, you will turn in all of your completed paperwork, make sure that your ASPEN account is working properly, take your ID photo, get your class schedule, and pick up your chromebook.
