Students in grades 4-12 can reset their own password on the CPS self-service site. Passwords for students will expire every 6 months and must be reset by the student. Students will see a pop-up notification prompting them to reset their password fourteen days prior to its expiration.
If no action is taken before the password expires, students will be prompted to reset their password on its expiration date when they log in to their CPS account. High school students are required to update their passwords by its expiration date every 180 days. In order to avoid losing access to you CPS account, students should update their password before it expires.
NOTE: If upon logging into a CPS issued Chromebook you are prompted to reset your password because it has expired, you must do so on another device. You will not be able to login to the Chromebook until you reset your password. Thus, it is recommended that you change your password as soon as you are informed that it will be expiring soon.
If a student does not remember the answers to their three Challenge Questions, they should also update their questions. If a student needs to reset their password, they can do so by clicking on the Forgot Password? link on the login page where they will then be prompted to answer their challenge questions. Students should click Update Challenge Responses on the Manage Account section of the CPS self-service site. The system will prompt them to answer three (3) challenge questions.
You will need help from a teacher or staff member to regain access to your CPS account. See one of your teachers, Ms. Jara in the library, or one of our technology coordinators, Mr. Serrano or Ms. Rosales, for assistance.
You may call our Tech Hotline (708)568-1339 during remote learning for password reset assistance.
