I am originally from Muskegon, Michigan.   

I attended Michigan State University for my undergraduate degree and graduate degree.  

I studied abroad at the University of Cambridge, in the South of France, and in Richards Bay, South Africa.  

I have been teaching for over 20 years and have taught ELA and Social Sciences in grades 5-12 throughout my career.  

I am a National Board Certified Teacher in English Language Arts.  

I live downtown near the loop with my husband and my 12-year-old son.  

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going to concerts, visiting local museums, traveling, seeing Broadway in Chicago musicals and plays, spending time with family in Michigan, and going to baseball games (Go Cubs!).
