JUVENTUD Y MADUREZ
The theme of our Q2 MYP IB unit is "Juventud y Madurez." Students will acquire vocabulary to talk about childhood, adolescence and coming of age. We will learn about several cultural traditions that mark a transition to adulthood, including quinceañeras. We will explore these IB learner profile traits: PRINCIPLED and REFLECTIVE. The theme of our Q1 MYP IB unit is "La Salud y El Bienestar." Todo Sobre la Sra. Halliday
Yo soy una maestra de español. Yo tengo 35 años. Yo vivo en Logan Square. Me gusta montar en bicicleta. Mi bicicleta es de color verde. Me gusta dibujar, me gusta leer, y me gusta la yoga. ¿Qué te gusta a ti?
Ms. Halliday is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism (BSJ) and Loyola University Chicago's School of Education (MEd). She's currently taking graduate classes at DePaul University in the evenings, too! Before she was a teacher, Ms. Halliday worked as a writer for Southern Living magazine and Chicago magazine.
Ms. Halliday began learning Spanish when she was 10 years old, and during college she studied abroad at la Universidad de Sevilla in Spain. Ms. Halliday is super interested in mindfulness, compassion and social emotional learning (SEL). She tries to incorporate SEL into all of her classes, because she thinks it's so important.
This is Ms. Halliday's 10th year at Pulaski! Go Sabers!
