8 - Systems for Interventions
Systems for Interventions is the eighth indicator within the Supportive Schools Certification Process. A robust multi-tiered system of supports for SEL provides targeted and intensive evidence-based interventions to meet the differentiated needs of all students. While teachers and other classroom staff will be able to provide some of these supports, some students will also benefit from referral to and participation in small group or individualized interventions provided by trained practitioners.
Required Evidence for Certification
Behavioral health referral asks for student demographic information (e.g., Name, ID, classroom, grade), a description of the main concern, any additional concerns, and any previous interventions.
Communication has been shared with staff about how to submit a behavioral health referral.
There is documentation in ASPEN that at least 1 evidence-based Tier 2-3 intervention was provided in SY21.
Staff or community partners have been trained to provide at least 3 evidence-based behavioral health interventions, either on-site at the school or virtually.
Communication has gone out to staff regarding the school's systems for supportive and restorative discipline in SY21 & SY22.
Your school's disciplinary referral form includes a request to document supportive and restorative disciplinary approaches already implemented.
Discipline leader(s) have received training for their role that addresses supportive and restorative school discipline.

e) Partner with community agencies that will provide on-site interventions for students
f) Train staff on restorative disciplinary practices, with those responsible for implementing disciplinary interventions receiving the most intensive training
g) Develop and implement restorative disciplinary processes at the classroom and schoolwide disciplinary level. Ensure discipline referrals and documentation reflects this process.
