PRINCIPAL ELIGIBILITY APPLICATIONS WILL OPEN ON SEPTEMBER 22
Step 2 of the Principal Eligibility Process is an on-site assessment that uses a complex case study to present realistic scenarios and requires the candidate to simulate real-world actions and decision-making.
Candidates are presented with an overarching case scenario and data and four aligned tasks that represent the work of a school principal. For each task, candidates must analyze the case study data, develop strategies to complete the specific task, consider stakeholders' needs, and effectively communicate their solutions/ answers.
Candidates who move to Step 2 are provided with an information session to review logistics.
The candidate will present to two "stakeholder representatives" one priority to push the school forward.

Candidates answer questions about the steps to develop a new plan to move the school forward. This activity is an interview format.

Identify a goal, assign roles and responsibilities, and provide a rationale.
This is a written task submitted electronically. The task is scored asynchronously by two assessors.

The assessment is approximately 5 hours, including check-in and check-out time.
Following check-in, candidates will receive instructions and all materials to prepare for the day's tasks.
Activity Timing
Candidates will rotate through each task and need to review their schedule to identify the order and time they need to be prepared.
Candidates have twenty (20) minutes for the Visioning, Presentation, and Team Planning tasks.
Candidates have forty (40) minutes to complete the Strategizing and Resourcing written task.
An additional 5 minutes is added to each task to allow time to transition.
Preparation Time
Candidates are provided with a 1-hour prep time at the beginning of the day where they can review all materials.
Additional preparation times are integrated into the day to support candidates in being prepared for their next task. However, candidates may use their time as they please.
